About Me

Hi there!
My name is Ali, and I'm a licensed teacher with extensive experience working in schools and tutoring. I'm currently tutoring part-time while at home with my new baby. I have worked both on my own and with tutoring companies on and off for over a decade and have worked with students from kindergarten age up to college students.
My broad experience makes me uniquely qualified to meet students where they are and encourage them to reach higher.

My Philosophy
I have always loved working with kids, particularly in one-on-one settings. Although there are many talented teachers who are able to successfully teach and work with large numbers of students at once, I strongly believe that the best learning happens when the teacher is able to provide the student with his/her full attention. Both for academic and cognitive, as well as social and emotional reasons, this close working relationship brings out the best in students and enables them to achieve unprecedented goals.
I believe in the effectiveness of individual tutoring because of the ability to personalize every aspect of the process. Everything from the location and duration of the sessions, to the content and style of the lessons, are aspects I consider when designing a plan for a student. Throughout the tutoring process, I work together with the parents or guardians and the student to make sure I am meeting all their needs. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting your family and working together to establish a program that will be the best fit for your child.
Testimonials
"I can say in all sincerity that [Ali] has been a pillar for my business; one of just a few reasons the learning center has thrived as a business…
Ali is one of those naturally talented teachers. She commands respect from her students, she is patient but serious, and her students adore her. She is very organized, with a plan for every student. I can always be confident in her knowledge of any subject she takes on. She will always prepare well beyond what would be considered 'good enough.' She exudes professionalism in her interactions with everyone, including me, her fellow tutors, parents, and students...
She understands the importance of communication and fulfills that obligation to a tee…
In conclusion, Ali has been my very best tutor out of about 15 people. If you are looking for a teacher, you have found an unusually good one in Ali. If you are looking for someone who will add professionalism to your group and who will be 100% reliable, then that too is Ali. Lucky is the next person who gets her as an employee!"

"Our children ages 11 and 13 needed additional help with their executive functioning skills and school work. It had been a challenging time for us with remote learning due to the pandemic and we really weren’t sure where to turn. Ali Nash to the rescue! She is highly skilled in all subject matters and understood the intricacies of building rapport with middle schoolers while teaching them. She brought additional insight and materials to tutoring as well as offering encouragement and confidence building. We are grateful to Ali for helping our family through a difficult period."

"Thanks to Ali’s knowledge, kindness and patience, my 12 year old daughter was able to work through her math problems with renewed confidence. She is now heading into 7th grade on solid ground and we expect she will exceed her own expectations having had Ali’s support over the summer. I highly recommend Ali to anyone looking for someone who is smart, talented and great with kids."

“Ali tutored our ten year old son for a two week period over the summer. She arrived promptly each morning with a smile and was prepared with relevant materials for each tutoring session. After their first tutoring session together, I was immediately impressed that Ali was able to accurately assess my child’s needs and areas requiring focus. She was diligent in her work with him and assisted both of us in following the school’s summer homework plan, as well. Ali is calm, focused and encouraging – even in the face of a frustrated child. She was clear about her expectations and her direct but kind approach helped my child understand what was expected of him. My son enjoyed working with Ali and I would highly recommend Ali as a tutor. We would very happily work with her again."
- Cynthia
“Ali is a wonderfully patient and nurturing tutor. She meets the child where he or she is and is willing to give the child the time they need to process the material being covered, even when it is tough, which is so important in fostering a growth mindset in a student. Her kindness, patience and flexibility was not only appreciated by me as a parent, but my daughter looked forward to her sessions with Ali as well. Additionally, Ali took our feedback and recommendations to heart and made appropriate adjustments without issue to ensure that our daughter was appropriately challenged. I’d highly recommend her as a tutor."
